In effect from 5 October 2026
Learnscape turns a topic you name into a course. This page explains what information that takes, what we do with it, and what we never do with it.
01What we collect
Only what running the service needs:
- Your account: your email address, your name if you give it, and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's identifier, email address, whether Google has verified that email, and your name.
- Your courses: the topics you ask for and everything generated for them: syllabus, scripts, narration, videos and explorables.
- Payments: which plan you bought, your credit history, and the identifiers Stripe gives us for you and your subscription. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Sign-in sessions: a session record per signed-in browser, with that browser's user agent, so a session can be recognised and ended.
- Contact form messages: your name, email address and message, when you write to us.
- Visit counts: the page visited, the link source (a
?ref=tag) and a visitor key. The key is made by hashing your IP address and browser with a secret that changes daily. It lets us count daily visitors but can't be turned back into an address, and it can't follow you from one day to the next. We never store your IP address.
02How we use it
We use this information to run your account, generate and deliver your courses, take payments and keep the credit balance right, send the emails the service needs (such as confirming your email address), answer you when you write, and understand which pages and links bring people to Learnscape.
We do not sell your information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use your information to train AI models.
03Signing in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, we ask Google only for your basic profile: an account identifier, your email address and your name. We use them to create your Learnscape account or sign you into it, and for nothing else. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar or any other Google data, and we keep no Google access token after you are signed in.
Learnscape's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
04Who else processes it
Learnscape runs on a server we rent, and our database lives there. These services handle part of the work for us, each only with the data that part needs:
- Stripe processes payments and subscriptions.
- Anthropic runs the AI models that write your course. They receive your topic and the course material as it is built, but not your account details.
- ElevenLabs turns lesson scripts into narration. They receive only the script text.
- Resend delivers our emails, so it receives your email address and the message.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a contact form submission comes from a person, and receives your IP address to do it.
- Google signs you in, if you choose to sign in with Google.
Some of these services are based outside your country, including in the United States.
06How long we keep it
We keep your account and courses until you ask us to delete them. Sign-in sessions end when they expire or when you sign out. Payment records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law require, even after an account is deleted. Visit counts contain no personal data and are kept as statistics.
07Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account together with your courses. To do any of these, write to us through the contact form using the email address on your account. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to complain to your data protection authority.
08Children
Learnscape is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
09Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For a significant change, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
